SMMOOTH NEWS

By Olga Hernandez

Youth Day is ON and that's not all!  We are still on track and have lots to look forward to!  There is a meeting this Sunday, February 20, to work on Stations of the Cross production... bring snacks to share and invite anyone you think would like to be involved!

I want to thank all of the youth and parents for showing up at the SMMOOTH Leader meeting with Fr. Vincent... mind, body and soul!  I was so proud of the way you all stepped up and expressed your feelings and concerns to find a way to move forward and accomplish everything that your want to as a group.

The most important thing right now will be communication and follow through.  I can see we have a lot to accomplish between now and June.  I look forward to seeing you all on Sunday and begin the planning for Stations of the Cross... which is on March 11!  Be sure to be there on time and invite other SMMOOTHIES that might want to be involved.

And finally, as I understood our discussion, these are the areas that we will be planning for and producing in the next few months.

Every one of you is encouraged to choose some projects and committees that you can commit to based on your interests, talents and skills.

Our primary "projects" are:

  1. Preparation for SMMOOTH Sundays
  2. Stations of the Cross on March 11 - Monica Gutierrez is the coordinator and will be here on Sunday to get us moving!
  3. Youth Day is ON!!! The tickets are here!!! Be ready for faith and fun on March 17.
  4. Confirmation Retreat on May 21 - Justine Coliflores is coordinating with Lisa Underhill and Margaret Miller.
  5. Confirmation on June 5 - SMMOOTH will be needed to support activities and information will be coming soon.
  6. SMMOOTH Graduation on June 12
  7. St. Joseph Workshop Service Projects - Lisa will let us know when we will begin a special project she is coordinating for us.

Please check Facebook Smmooth/Confirmation and your emails regularly and confirm that you have received my messages so that I know you are up to date on what is happening.
